Matthew 5:38-48 "Loving Your Enemies" Rev. Keith T. Reid

In this passage, as Jesus continues His antitheses correcting misinterpretations and misapplications of the Old Testament, He is calling us to love our enemies, love those who persecute us, love those who differ from us. Specifically, we see Jesus calling us to be humble and non-retaliatory and to actively seek the good of our enemies; and, in doing this, we must strive to reflect the character of God. So, let’s look at this passage together and consider each of these teachings.
