Matthew 9:35-10:1 "Plentiful Harvest, Few Workers"

Too many Christians, especially in America, have adopted the idea of consumer Christianity, of being spiritual spectators. The church today, by and large, has made the whole point of being a Christian about what WE get out of it rather than what we can do for OTHERS. We don’t want to serve; we want to be served and to have our needs, wants, and desires met at every turn; we’ve turned the faith into something selfish. So, what I want us to do today is look at this passage and think about what it means for us. What is Jesus calling us, as His followers, to do? And, what we will see is that He is calling us to work, to get about the business of serving others and sharing the Gospel so that they might come to know Him as well.
