2 Corinthians 8:1-15 "Rich In Generosity" Rev. Keith T. Reid
This passage teaches us that, whether we are giving money, time, or talent, we need to make sure that we are giving to Him properly; we need to make sure that our giving is done for His glory and to advance His Kingdom rather than to gain praise and adulation for ourselves. We need to make sure that we are Kingdom-focused rather than focused on ourselves. Specifically, the passage teaches us that, in order to make sure that we are giving of ourselves to God properly, we must consider giving a privilege, we must excel in giving as a spiritual discipline, and we must give willingly. If we do these things, we can make sure that our gift, whether money, time, or talent, is pleasing to God.
