This week, we begin a new series in Galatians. Basically, what was happening in Galatia was false teachers had begun teaching that Christians must supplement their faith in Christ with adherence to the Mosaic Law. So, Paul is writing this letter to combat this idea; to remind the Galatians that they are saved by grace through faith in Jesus, not by works of the law. And, that's precisely the issue Paul is addressing in this first passage.
